Game Of Thrones recap – 2×05: ‘The Ghost Of Harrenhal’

April 30, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Now that Game Of Thrones has introduced magic into the mix, we get more of it as we cross the halfway mark of the second season.

Let’s bitch it out… [Read more…]

Once Upon A Time recap – 1×20: ‘The Stranger’

April 30, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Well, now we know who August (Eion Bailey) is, although thanks to ABC’s promo department you likely figured that out sometime last week. As we close in on the season finale, are there any revelations left in the show?

Let’s bitch it out… [Read more…]

Fringe recap: 4×20 – ‘Worlds Apart’

April 28, 2012 by tvangie

After last week’s high concept episode, it was all business this week on Fringe. Even though we went into high-speed exposition mode in laying out David Robert Jones’ (Jared Harris) master plan, we still managed to some stellar emotional beats in this week’s offering.

Let’s take a closer look after the jump.

Awake recap – 1×09: ‘Game Day’

April 27, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of NBC

This week Awake tries to deliver a bombshell twist outside of its central mythology, but mostly comes up lacking. As much as I appreciate the effort to do something more with Michael’s (Jason Isaacs) personal life (outside of the case of the week), this…is not the direction that I would have chosen.

Let’s bitch it out… [Read more…]

30 Rock recap – 6×18: ‘Live From Studio 6H’ (East Coast Feed)

April 27, 2012 by Bitch Stole My Remote

If we look at this week’s episode as a chapter of a weekly television series with continuing storylines, the live episode is pretty lightweight, even for this season’s relatively lax standards. But as a twenty-one minute piece of blatant yet absolutely enjoyable fan service? ‘Live from Studio 6H’ passes with flying colors – while wearing angel wings and singing “Zou Bisou Bisou.”

Here are this week’s 30 Rock-Does-Things… Indulgently Awards… [Read more…]

The Secret Circle recap – 1×20: ‘Traitor’

April 27, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

The search for the final missing crystals continues as Diana (Shelley Hennig) comes apart at the seams in the wake of last week’s revelation. As for dead grandma Jane…well, she’s old news by the time the title appears.

Revenge recap – 1×18: ‘Justice’

April 26, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of ABC

It’s a week of call-backs as Revenge goes on trial. The latest episode joins the Grayson trial in medias res (at Day 15), but by the end of the hour is it ultimately proven pointless. The real ‘Justice’ is being doled out by two powerful women – Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) and Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) – well outside of the law.

Smash recap – 1×12: ‘Publicity’

April 24, 2012 by tvangie

Courtesy of NBC

After looking at the previews for last night’s episode a few weeks ago, I’ll admit that I was dreading the latest episode of Smash. Surprisingly enough, I thought it was one of, if not the best, episodes of the series thus far.

Let’s take a closer look: [Read more…]

Girls recap – 1×02: ‘Vagina Panic’

April 24, 2012 by yellowwait

What a difference a week makes! Last week we saw the arrival of the highly anticipated and universally lauded new HBO show Girls. Well those rosy reviews are old news, and we spent the better part of the last week exploring an almost immediate backlash to the once golden child. How can we possibly talk about this week’s episode when there is so much being said about the series itself?

Let’s lay it out (and do a bit of recapping as well) [Read more…]

Mad Men recap – 5×06: ‘Far Away Places’

April 24, 2012 by tvangie

Courtesy of AMC

Mad Men switches up its storytelling techniques this week, showing us three concurrent stories of Peggy (Elisabeth Moss), Roger (John Slattery) and Don (Jon Hamm). Likely to be polarizing to many viewers, I didn’t find the narrative deviation distracting as the episode was still ripe with symbolism and character development.

Let’s take a closer look after the jump. [Read more…]
