This week on Doctor Who, we continued to get weaned off regular companions Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) in another stand-alone adventure. This time we were hanging out somewhere in the Wild West. The Doctor’s (Matt Smith) Stetson wasn’t the only thing that returns, however; we also see a return of the ramifications of his traveling alone for too long.
Let’s take a closer look after the jump.
We’ve played in the sun. We’ve taken vacations. We took in some conferences, some film festivals and we’ve watched some marvelous summer TV.
But let’s get serious because the fall is upon us. The glorious, beautiful fall television season. It’s a time when seemingly half a dozen shows debut each day, and shiny newbies compete with old favourites for the valuable real estate we affectionately refer to as your eyeball time and your DVR/TIVO space.
So tag along with us as we guide you through what we’re going to watch this fall…

After taking a week off for the excretable MTV Video Awards, the penultimate episode of Awkward.‘s second season finally airs. Unfortunately the episode needs its own ‘do-over’ since it mostly amounts to narrative wheel spinning.

All good things must come to an end, and so Damages bows out with an extended 70 minute series finale that resolves both the McClaren case, and more importantly, establishes once and for all the distinction between Patty Hewes (Glenn Close) and Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne).
After delivering a largely satisfying and successful series run, does the series finale serve as an appropriate end to our beloved show? We break out the ever popular He/She said to deconstruct ‘But You Don’t Do That Anymore.’

In the words of Cat Deeley, “This is it people”. So You Think You Can Dance delivered its final ‘voting’ show of the season, utterly exhausting the final four dancers so we can adequately vote for our favourites. How did they fare with learning a whopping five new routines?

With a title like ‘Dinosaurs on a Spaceship’, it’s impossible not to have fun during the second episode of the current Doctor Who season. With last week’s season opener and this week’s offering, it looks like the series is opting for a return to standalone adventure episodes. Even so, we do get small glimpses into what to expect for the rest of the season.

Now that is what I’m talking about! After spending what seems like the entire second half of the season griping, I’m happy to report that Lost Girl is back in fighting shape in the penultimate episode of its extended second season. The rejuvenation is courtesy partly to a script that doesn’t require our characters to make stupidly impulsive decisions (like last week), but also courtesy of some very welcome guest stars in the form of Vex (Paul Amos) and The Morrigan (Emmanuelle Vaugier).
