Parks and Recreation review – 5×04: ‘Sex Education’

October 19, 2012 by Bitch Stole My Remote

Another solid outing from our fellow Pawneeans, or as Perd Hapley would prefer we call them, ‘Perdverts’. However, there are signs that the series may have hit a rough patch creatively now that we’ve seen the same conflict for the past three episodes.

Let’s break it down…

Last Resort review – 1×04: ‘Voluntold’

October 19, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Tensions rise aboard the Colorado as events from the last few episodes, including last week’s hostage situation and the lingering mutinous feelings of the crew, come to the forefront and nearly turn into an explosive situation.

The Vampire Diaries review – 4×02: ‘Memorial’

Well, that’s a relief. After a disappointing season opener, The Vampire Diaries’ second episode is everything I could have asked for and more. I spent a week afraid that my beloved show had lost its magic (pardon the pun). But with cliffhangers, the return of a favourite character, and the love triangle back in action, the show has found its footing again.

American Horror Story: Asylum review – 2×01: ‘Welcome to Briarcliff’

October 18, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Well rip off my arm and slap my tushy, American Horror Story is back with a brand new (standalone) season, subtitled Asylum. As we meet the familiar faces in new roles, it’s clear that creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk and writer Tim Minear are still throwing everything they have at the screen in the hopes something sticks.

Nashville review – 1×02: ‘I Can’t Help It (If I’m Still in Love with You)’

October 18, 2012 by thedude35

Frankly, last week’s premiere of Nashville had me a little worried that it was too cluttered. But my faith is restored when this week’s episode starts off strong and has enough good stuff that I get reeled-in before the first commercial.

Modern Family review – 4×04: ‘The Butler’s Escape’

October 18, 2012 by Bitch Stole My Remote

The  family is definitely still in adjustment mode four episodes into the fourth season thanks to all the changes that have been introduced. Also, is it just me or does Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) continue to age at a speed just shy of the speed with which Gloria went from zero to full bloom? Not that I’m complaining, because this episode showed me that Lily is going to be one sassy-four year old thanks to Miss Anderson-Emmons budding comedy skills.

Arrow review – 1×02: ‘Honor Thy Father’

October 18, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Pilots are glossy, shiny and new. Last week’s pilot for Arrow, The CW’s biggest hit in years, was all of those things. But the truth is in the second episode – it’s when the characters get fleshed out, the budget comes down to normal levels and the series begins to figure out what the week-to-week will look like. So where does that leave Arrow?

Revolution review – 1×05: ‘Soul Train’

October 16, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of NBC

Killing off a character is a significant event on a television show, so it’s interesting that NBC’s Revolution went there so early in its first season. The question on my mind going into ‘Soul Train’ (aside from wondering how the popular dance show fits into the dystopian world of Revolution) is how much of an impact the death will have.

Homeland review – 2×03: ‘State of Independence’

October 15, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Last week Homeland delivered a cliffhanger that most shows would sit on until the season finale. It delivered it in its second episode. So what happens now that Brody’s (Damian Lewis) secret is out of the bag?

The Walking Dead review – 3×01: ‘Seed’

October 15, 2012 by tvangie

The Walking Dead fires up its third season with an action-packed, zombie-killing premiere. With all the whining about how slow and boring most of last season was, did the premiere shut down those naysayers, giving us a glimpse into how the third season will shape up?

Let’s bitch it out.
