Lost Girl recap – 1×09: ‘Fae Day’

March 12, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

In the wake of last week’s near series-best, Lost Girl settles in for a solid, if somewhat average episode that helps to expand the Fae world.

Let’s bitch it out…

GCB recap – 1×02: ‘Hell Hath No Fury’

March 12, 2012 by yellowwait

After an amusing if uninspired pilot episode, I was interested to see where the series would go as it starts to spread it’s wings a little. In its second episode, GCB follows Carlene (Kristin Chenoweth) and her bitch posse as they continue their hate-on for Amanda (Leslie Bibb), which involves bringing their children into the game. Hell hath no fury like Texan women scorned, but Hell hath no annoyance like a bored critic.

Let’s dish. [Read more…]

The Walking Dead recap – 2×12: ‘Better Angels’

There are few words that capture the feeling that accompanies watching game-changing television. Perhaps because it so often involves deaths and surprise twists of fate, often we as viewers are left in shock, our mouths open in speechless disbelief. And while the events that took place on last night’s The Walking Dead should come as a surprise to no one, TVAngie may have captured the mood best when she wrote me after the episode ended to exclaim that she “needed a cigarette.”

Let’s bitch it out…(Major spoilers ahead)

Once Upon A Time recap – 1×15: ‘Red-Handed’

March 11, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

After last week’s poorly timed side journey into yet another impossible love story, Once Upon a Time had some ground to make up. And while I would have preferred the show tackle Kathyrn’s disappearance head-on, ‘Red-Handed’ was a good character piece with a surprising take on a familiar story.

Let’s bitch it out…

Checking In: I Just Want My Pants Back recap – 1×05-1×06: “Something’s Wrong Down There,’ ‘Safety Nets’

March 10, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

MTV’s inappropriate and profane comedy about twenty-something NY hipsters continues its amusing first season. In this check-in, we’ll discuss the middle episodes and explore the assertion that Kim Shaw’s Tina is the true breakout star.

30 Rock Recap – 6×10: ‘Standards and Practices’

March 9, 2012 by Bitch Stole My Remote

True to the title of this week’s episode, Tina Fey and co. meet, but don’t exceed, the standards of 30 Rock’s uninspired-yet-still-enjoyable sixth season. ‘Standards and Practices’ has fantastic one-liners and sight gags, but it also has stories that have already been told in other (and sometimes better) ways.

Here are the winners of this week’s 30 Rock-Does-Things Awards… [Read more…]

Awake recap – 1×02: ‘The Little Guy’

March 9, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of NBC

This is an integral week for NBC’s most audacious drama, Awake. The pilot created a great deal of good will from critics and fans (who saw it) alike, but the true test of the show is determining whether it can maintain its dual world existence over the long run. So how’d it do?

Happy Endings recap – 2×17: ‘The Kerkovich Way’

Penny (Casey Wilson) and Max (Adam Pally) do their best John Hughes tribute, while Jane (Eliza Coupe) goes full-on evil mastermind, complete with evil looking kitty.  Let’s recap! [Read more…]

Justified recap – 3×08: ‘Watching The Detectives’

March 8, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of FX

Way to make me eat my words, there, Justified. Just a few days after complaining about a slightly listless episode in which the focus appeared to be entirely on setting up action, things exploded (in some cases literally) in ‘Watching The Detectives.’

The River recap – 1×06: ‘Doctor Emmet Cole’

March 7, 2012 by tvangie

The River delivers another strong episode this week, changing up the format and showing us some significant narrative progression. With only two more episodes left this season, the show is definitely setting the stage for a potentially explosive finale.

Let’s take a closer look at this week’s episode after the jump.
