Flashback recap – Doctor Who 4×08-4×09: ‘Silence In The Library’ and ‘Forest Of The Dead’

The Doctor Who Project: At the behest of TVAngie (and many, many of my students), I’ve been catching up on the 2005 revision of Doctor Who. I’ll be posting my thoughts on some of the big episodes as I make my way up through the series. Thus far I’ve tackled ‘Blink’ – a series high point – and 4×03 ‘Planet Of The Ood’ – a weaker episode that seems reflective of the quality of the first half of the fourth season. With the arrival of River Song (Alex Kingston), however, things seem back on the path to recovery.

The Doctor Who Project: At the behest of TVAngie (and many, many of my students), I’ve been catching up on the 2005 revision of Doctor Who. I’ll be posting my thoughts on some of the big episodes as I make my way up through the series. Last week I tackled ‘Blink’ – which was a series high point – so it’s a little ironic that I’m following that up with one of the weaker episodes in recent seasons: 4×03’s ‘Planet Of The Ood’. Or as I’ve subtitled it: “Why I never want to see the Ood again”.

Girls recap – 1×07: ‘Welcome to Bushwick, a.k.a. The Crackcident’

After last week’s Hannah-centric (Lena Dunham) episode, we find the girls back together, in the funniest episode to date, heading to Bushwick to attend a warehouse party. While the intention was to attend the “best party ever,” the evenings festivities were complicated by the various men in their lives…and Ray (Alex Karpovsky).

Awake recap – 1×13: ‘Turtles All The Way Down’

After watching the season finale of Revenge Wednesday, I was certain that I had seen the craziest hour of television that the 2011-2012 season had to offer. Fast forward twenty-four hours and begin a slow-clap for Awake, a complicated show that never quite caught on. Last night touched on insane series finale territory as it somehow managed to answer questions but revealed nothing all at the same time. Let the great debate begin!
