He Said/She Said: Damages review – 5×10: ‘But You Don’t Do That Anymore’

September 13, 2012 by Bitch Stole My Remote

All good things must come to an end, and so Damages bows out with an extended 70 minute series finale that resolves both the McClaren case, and more importantly, establishes once and for all the distinction between Patty Hewes (Glenn Close) and Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne).

After delivering a largely satisfying and successful series run, does the series finale serve as an appropriate end to our beloved show? We break out the ever popular He/She said to deconstruct ‘But You Don’t Do That Anymore.’

Let’s bitch it out… [Read more…]

So You Think You Can Dance: Season 9 – “Top Four Perform’

September 12, 2012 by tvangie

In the words of Cat Deeley, “This is it people”. So You Think You Can Dance delivered its final ‘voting’ show of the season, utterly exhausting the final four dancers so we can adequately vote for our favourites. How did they fare with learning a whopping five new routines?

Let’s bitch it out.

Doctor Who review – 7×02: ‘Dinosaurs on a Spaceship’

September 9, 2012 by tvangie

With a title like ‘Dinosaurs on a Spaceship’, it’s impossible not to have fun during the second episode of the current Doctor Who season. With last week’s season opener and this week’s offering, it looks like the series is opting for a return to standalone adventure episodes. Even so, we do get small glimpses into what to expect for the rest of the season.

Let’s take a closer look after the jump.

Lost Girl review – 2×21: ‘Into The Dark’

September 7, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Now that is what I’m talking about! After spending what seems like the entire second half of the season griping, I’m happy to report that Lost Girl is back in fighting shape in the penultimate episode of its extended second season. The rejuvenation is courtesy partly to a script that doesn’t require our characters to make stupidly impulsive decisions (like last week), but also courtesy of some very welcome guest stars in the form of Vex (Paul Amos) and The Morrigan (Emmanuelle Vaugier).

Damages review – 5×09: ‘I Like Your Chair’

Well Damages fans – we’ve only got one episode left until the series says goodbye for good. How did the penultimate episode fare? Did we get enough answers to set up an exciting finale?

Let’s bitch it out.

Grimm review – 2×04: ‘Quill’

September 4, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

After a lackluster third episode, NBC unwisely decides to air a new episode on Labour Day Monday, which means many will miss some lovely moments between Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner). Bad move Peacock network!

He Said/She Said: Breaking Bad review – 5×08: ‘Gliding Over All’

September 3, 2012 by Bitch Stole My Remote

We’re reached the half-way point of the fifth and final season of AMC’s Breaking Bad. Since the season is taking a breather until next summer (sweet Jebus!), we figured we’d bring back the ever-popular ‘He Said/She Said’ to cover as much ground as possible.

Doctor Who review – 7×01: ‘Asylum of the Daleks’

Time traveling fans rejoice: our favourite Time Lord is back for a brand new season of adventures! The seventh season premiere of Doctor Who marked the return of the perilous Daleks (who were absent all of last season), while also introducing – and subsequently faking us out – to The Doctor’s (Matt Smith) future companion.

Let’s bitch it out.

Lost Girl review – 2×20: ‘Lachlan’s Gambit’

September 1, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

After the colossal failure that was last week’s episode, Lost Girl continues to struggle with a follow-up episode that – while entertaining – is also mind-blowingly inept.
