The Vampire Diaries review – 4×04: “The Five”

November 1, 2012 by thedude35

A CURE?!! There’s a CURE?! Well I definitely wasn’t expecting that. But what I was expecting (and hoping for) is that The Vampire Diaries would finally find its footing – and it has happened. Now we’re suddenly on the search for a cure, Rebekah (Claire Holt) has been daggered again and Stefan (Paul Wesley) has made a deal with the devil. There’s so much to discuss!

Let’s bitch it out… [Read more…]

Arrow review – 1×04: ‘An Innocent Man’

Arrow delivers mostly a dud episode with “An Innocent Man’ as characters pontificate about the necessity of vigilantism. Thankfully there’s a doozy of a pay-off, proving that no good deed goes unpunished.

The Vampire Diaries review – 4×03: “The Rager”

After a few episodes spent rudderlessly floating along, The Vampire Diaries appears to have found its new direction. With the introduction of “The Five”, the season starts to settle in beyond simply watching Nina Dobrev’s Elena fight whatever emotion is strongest this week.

Let’s take a closer look after the jump.. [Read more…]

Arrow review – 1×03: ‘Lone Gunman’

Week three of Arrow – which has officially been picked up for the season (huzzah!) – introduces a master assassin named Deadshot, aka Floyd Lawton (Michael Rowe). Does the suitably named killer hit the mark?

The Vampire Diaries review – 4×02: ‘Memorial’

Well, that’s a relief. After a disappointing season opener, The Vampire Diaries’ second episode is everything I could have asked for and more. I spent a week afraid that my beloved show had lost its magic (pardon the pun). But with cliffhangers, the return of a favourite character, and the love triangle back in action, the show has found its footing again.

Arrow review – 1×02: ‘Honor Thy Father’

Pilots are glossy, shiny and new. Last week’s pilot for Arrow, The CW’s biggest hit in years, was all of those things. But the truth is in the second episode – it’s when the characters get fleshed out, the budget comes down to normal levels and the series begins to figure out what the week-to-week will look like. So where does that leave Arrow?
