Grimm review – 2×09: ‘La Llorona’

October 27, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Grimm delivers an incredibly disappointing seasonal episode that contributes nothing to the mythology or the character development. H*ll, it’s not even a memorable holiday episode.

Let’s bitch it out… [Read more…]

Parks and Recreation review – 5×05: ‘Halloween Surprise’

October 26, 2012 by Bitch Stole My Remote

Just when it feels as though Parks and Recreation might be hitting a bit of a slump, it comes back with one of the most romantic – yet simultaneously laugh-out-loud funny -episodes this season. Not every plot point unfolds seamlessly over the episode, but the sheer volume of gags and emotional development more than make up for those bumps.

Let’s break it down, and refrain from too much shrieking and giggling… [Read more…]

Grimm review – 2×08: ‘The Other Side’

October 19, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Grimm sticks with its traditional case of the week formula, filtering in just enough interesting mythology tidbits to make the episode worthwhile. I see a formula emerging…

Revolution review – 1×05: ‘Soul Train’

October 16, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Killing off a character is a significant event on a television show, so it’s interesting that NBC’s Revolution went there so early in its first season. The question on my mind going into ‘Soul Train’ (aside from wondering how the popular dance show fits into the dystopian world of Revolution) is how much of an impact the death will have.

Grimm review – 2×07: ‘The Bottle Imp’

October 12, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

This week Grimm has a complete misfire (the case of the week bores, then instigates inappropriately hilarious laughter – not in a good way). But the mythology sandwiched in between more than justify the episode.

Revolution review – 1×04: ‘The Plague Dogs’

October 9, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of NBC

Earlier this week Revolution got a full season pick-up from NBC (the first drama of the 2012 television season), which means we’ve got a minimum of eighteen more hours to unravel the mysteries of the blackout. Either that or we’re simply going to watch Danny (Graham Rogers) escape and get captured eighteen more times.
