October 5, 2012 by Bitch Stole My Remote

Ron has a new girlfriend! Ben and April Bond over Star Trek fan fiction! And Councilman Jamm has Irritable Bowel Syndrome? Either way, the cast and crew of Parks and Recreation have delivered another fantastic episode.

So fellow Pawnee Porpoises, let’s gather round dive right in to this week’s episode…

The second episode of ABC’s biggest gamble of the fall television season gives us a glimpse of what to expect as the pilot transitions into a series. So how does the second episode fare?

Likely due to increase in production costs due to cast raises Presidential Debates, Modern Family is taking a week off. It’ll be back with two new episodes next Wednesday, Oct 10, starting at 9pm EST on ABC

At least you know you’re not the only one crying…

Revolution review – 1×03: ‘No Quarter’

October 2, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of NBC

With Live+DVR3 and regular ratings in, Revolution is doing exceedingly well for struggling NBC. Creatively the show remains stagnant despite some minor gains.

Homeland review – 2×01: ‘The Smile’

October 1, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of Showtime

Well, well, well. Sunday night is easily the craziest night for high quality television, but the only show I’ve been truly waiting for with bated breath is Showtime’s Homeland. Last year I named it the best show in the first annual Bitch Awards (TVAngie named it second best) and last week the show took home the Emmy for Best Drama. So clearly the show’s sophomore season would never be able to live up to the hype, right?

Wrong.

Revenge review – 2×01: ‘Destiny’

October 1, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of ABC

After a long, hot summer, it’s good to return to the Hamptons, isn’t it? The second season of ABC’s not-so-guilty pleasure takes us back to the beach, the b*tching and the drama as Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) continues her mission of REVENGE! Oh it feels good to write that again.

Once Upon A Time review – 2×01: ‘Broken’

October 1, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

After a maddeningly inconsistent first season, Once Upon A Time – a ratings surprise for ABC – returns for its second season after delivering a mostly satisfying season finale. Can the second season maintain the consistency?

We bid a final adieu to the beloved Ponds on the mid-season finale of Doctor Who, but with such a buildup to their departure, is the episode a fitting goodbye?

Film Review: Pitch Perfect

September 30, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of Universal Studios

By all accounts, Pitch Perfect has no right to succeed as well as it does: it’s a film about an a cappella singing competition starring an Oscar nominee (Anna Kendrick for Up In The Air) and features a recurring projectile vomiting gag. So why was the film so much d*mn fun?!

Grimm review – 2×05: ‘The Good Shepherd’

September 30, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of NBC

It’s been nearly a month since Grimm aired its last new episode (Sept 4 to be exact) so the big question on my mind going into the show’s fifth episode is…what is this about again? In all seriousness, it seems likely that NBC’s attempt at generating some momentum by debuting the show’s second season back in August is all but doomed to fail now. You don’t bench a show for four weeks and then expect casual viewers to notice it’s back on the schedule on Friday evenings *smacks forehead*
