Fringe recap: 4×20 – ‘Worlds Apart’

April 28, 2012 by tvangie

After last week’s high concept episode, it was all business this week on Fringe. Even though we went into high-speed exposition mode in laying out David Robert Jones’ (Jared Harris) master plan, we still managed to some stellar emotional beats in this week’s offering.

Let’s take a closer look after the jump.

Smash recap – 1×12: ‘Publicity’

After looking at the previews for last night’s episode a few weeks ago, I’ll admit that I was dreading the latest episode of Smash. Surprisingly enough, I thought it was one of, if not the best, episodes of the series thus far.

Let’s take a closer look: [Read more…]

Mad Men recap – 5×06: ‘Far Away Places’

April 24, 2012 by tvangie

Mad Men switches up its storytelling techniques this week, showing us three concurrent stories of Peggy (Elisabeth Moss), Roger (John Slattery) and Don (Jon Hamm). Likely to be polarizing to many viewers, I didn’t find the narrative deviation distracting as the episode was still ripe with symbolism and character development.

Let’s take a closer look after the jump. [Read more…]

Fringe recap – 4×19: ‘Letters of Transit’

Fringe continues its annual trend of pushing limits in its 19th episode of the season. As we’ve seen in previous seasons, the 19th episode is usually the most ‘high-concept’ and mind-blowing episode of the season and ‘Letters of Transit’ does not disappoint. This week, we’re launched way into future in the year 2036 where the Observers have become rulers of the Earth.

Let’s take a closer look after the jump:

Smash recap – 1×11: ‘The Movie Star’

April 17, 2012 by tvangie

It was another frustrating episode this week on Smash, riddled with plot points that no one really cares about. There were a couple of saving graces, but on the whole, this episode was a dud.

Let’s bitch it out. [Read more…]

Mad Men recap – 5×04: ‘Signal 30’

April 16, 2012 by tvangie

This week on Mad Men it was all about Pete’s (Vincent Kartheiser) shameful descent from his self-made pedestal, culminating in one of the most hilarious moments of the entire series.

Let’s take a closer look after the jump…
