Once Upon A Time recap – 1×11: ‘Fruit of the Poisonous Tree’

January 30, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of ABC

I’m eschewing a traditional recap of the show because I’m at a bit of a cross-roads. Every show has natural ups and downs and not every episode can be a classic. And then there are shows like Once Upon A Time, which seem to be deliberately abusing not only their great premise, but also the audience’s goodwill.

Let’s (really) bitch it out… [Read more…]

Fringe recap: 4 x 10 – “Forced Perspective”

January 28, 2012 by tvangie

Courtesy of FOX

As predicted last week, Fringe revisits the monster-of-the-week format in its latest episode, but still manages to convey some clues to the season’s endgame even if the plot served more as a standalone.

Let’s take a closer look after the jump.

30 Rock recap – 6×03 and 6×04: “Idiots are People Three!” and “The Ballad of Kenneth Parcell”

Apparently this is the movie awards season (What? Movies? Who watches those?), and it’s in that spirit that I thought I would tackle this week’s double dose of 30 Rock. Presenting the pseudo-annual 30 Rock-Does-Things-Awards! [Read more…]

Touch recap 1×01: ‘Pilot’

January 26, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of FOX

One day at precisely 3:18pm, Jake (David Mazouz), an eleven year-old boy who has never spoken (except in pretentious voice overs), trips the security alarm climbing a cell tower. Why is he up there? Because Jake is gifted: he has an understanding of the world and its mathematical connections. His story, as well as the stories of other random characters, are tied together in the new FOX series Touch, which aired a special, advance sneak preview on Monday.

Let’s bitch it out… [Read more…]

Justified recap – 3×02: ‘Cut Ties’

January 25, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of FX

I spent the majority of the day looking forward to a new episode of Justified tonight, and then as I sat down to watch, I realized that I’d forgotten Carla freaking Gugino was guest starring. Guess who’s night just got significantly better? All of us!

Alcatraz recap: 1 x 03 ‘Kit Nelson’

January 24, 2012 by tvangie

Courtesy of FOX

Another week, another visit to ALCATRAZ! And true to my prediction last week, this week’s offering profiles another prisoner from the aforementioned Rock who disappeared in 1963 and has returned to wreak havoc in the “present day”.

Join me as I bitch about last night’s lackluster episode after the jump. [Read more…]

Lost Girl recap – 1×02: ‘Where There’s A Will, There’s a Fae’

January 23, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Bo (Anna Silk) and Dyson (Kris Holden-Reid) strike up the sexytime to help deal with her hunger “problem”. Oh wait…that was only the end of the episode? Sorry, I got distracted by MORE NUDITY. Plus we hit the bar and meet Trick (Richard Howland)!

Once Upon A Time recap 1×10: ‘7:15 am’

January 23, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of ABC

This week our family fairytale show turns its attention back to Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin) and David Nolan (Josh Dallas), aka Snow and Charming. After last week’s lackluster outing focusing on Emma (Jennifer Morrison), I was simply happy to shift the focus onto someone else. Plus: metaphors, metaphors everywhere!

Fringe recap: 4 x 09 ‘Enemy of my Enemy’

January 21, 2012 by tvangie

Courtesy of FOX

This week’s episode of Fringe wasted no time, taking off right where we left off from last week where we were teased with the reappearance of David Robert Jones (Jared Harris). Will we find out what he’s doing back and how he managed to survive being sliced in half as a portal between two alternate dimensions closed on him?

Let’s check it out after the jump.
