Fringe recap – 4×12: ‘Welcome To Westfield’

February 11, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

TVangie and I have had several conversations about the success of the “alt-timeline” that’s been explored in the fourth season of Fringe. While many viewers have been unsure (principally because we’re unsure if we should care about these new versions of our core cast), ‘Welcome to Westfield’ – in my eyes – aptly proved that this experiment is starting to pay off.

Let’s bitch it out…

The Secret Circle recap – 1×14: ‘Valentine’

February 10, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

In the spirit (Devil or otherwise) of the holidays, our favourite witch show goes all fluffy bunny love and peace and happiness and stuff.

Nah, I’m just kidding. The boring chick OD’d, the trampy one got some (more) and the protagonist got strangled by ghosts and flipped her car. Feel the love!

Let’s bitch it out…

30 Rock recap – 6×06: ‘Hey, Baby, What’s Wrong?’

Don’t ‘Baby’ me, show. If you are going to make me sit through an hour-long episode, at least give me something I haven’t seen before, or something that’s somewhat pleasant.

30 Rock-Does-Things Awards is back. Let’s break it down…

Justified recap – 3×04: ‘The Devil You Know’

February 9, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

We’re just under a quarter of the way through season three of FX’s Justified and those concerns that everyone had about the show having difficulty topping last season’s saga of the Bennett clan? Yeah…they were unfounded.

Happy Endings recap 2×13: ‘The St. Valentine’s Day Maxssacre’

February 9, 2012 by yellowwait

Recently, this website posted their 100th post, and this anniversary had me in a nostalgic mood. I decided to revisit my very first post. Way back then I had gone on a mini-rant about Happy Endings, and especially the character of Max (Adam Pally). It seemed like his character had eschewed all development in favor of crude jokes and crazy antics. Well, it’s as if the writers had been reading this blog all along – this week’s episode seems to have answered my prayers. Let’s do this!

Revenge recap 1 x 14: ‘Perception’

February 9, 2012 by tvangie

Courtesy of ABC

This week’s offering of Revenge showed some serious cracks in Emily’s (Emily VanCamp) insatiable plight for the downfall of her enemies. Is our heroine’s once sure-footing slipping out from under her?

Let’s take a closer look after the jump:

The River recap – 1×01/02: “Magus”/”Marbeley”

February 8, 2012 by tvangie

Courtesy of ABC

The River, another highly-anticipated new series, premiered last night. The show is the product of co-creator Oren Peli, who gave us the Paranormal Activity franchise, and has the intriguing premise of finding a missing person in the depths of the Amazon jungle. The show is chalked full of interesting characters and creepy imagery, but was it able to satisfy the seemingly unreasonable expectations I have for new shows this season?

Find out after the jump.

Ringer recap – 1×12: ‘What Are You Doing Here, Ho-Bag?’

February 8, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of The CW

For weeks I’ve been fielding the same question from friends, co-workers, and even strangers on the street: why am I’m still watching (and recapping) The CW’s Ringer? I’ll admit, the question was becoming harder and harder to answer as the show wasted its goodwill and abused its talented cast. But I had faith that it would find it’s inner soapy. And low and behold, tonight was the night the show finally got its shit together and became the show I had hoped it would be.

Alcatraz recap: 1 x 05 – “Guy Hastings”

February 7, 2012 by tvangie

Courtesy of FOX

Alrighty Alcatraz fans, it was make or break time this week to see if the new series would be worth sticking around for the rest of the season. After a month of my griping and with the secret hope the show would burst through its tired formula and into intriguing territory, did last night’s episode succeed in changing my mind?

Find out after the jump. (Please note this recap contains SPOILERS) [Read more…]

Lost Girl recap – 1×04: ‘Faetal Attraction’

February 6, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of Showcase / Syfy

Last week Lost Girl echoed my beloved Buffy, the Vampire Slayer in several ways: the case of the week featured a giant reptile and the Greek system, and our heroine, Bo (Anna Silk) slept with her boyfriend, only to have him turn into a giant sack of douche. So what’s a girl to do? Kenzi and I would go the ice cream for breakfast route, but I guess if you’re a succubus rejection means you have a threesome. That works, too!
