With more witches trying to kill the hybrid baby, an all powerful witch with a crush, and the hunt for Elijah (Daniel Gillies) coming to an end, 1×04 proves to be a solid episode. However, it’s the final scene that gets this reviewer up in arms.

After a lack-luster episode last week, The Originals comes back strong by doing what our immortal Original vampires do best: go to war and attend really cool parties.

The Originals review – 1×02 : ‘House Of The Rising Son’

The return of my favourite bitchy original sister, a daggered good guy in the hands of the enemy and the attempted self-inflicted abortion of a magic baby…what more could we ask for? If there’s one thing that The Vampire Diaries does well, it’s season finales. And the episode to close out the fourth season is no exception: a dead witch, my beloved Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) brought back to life, a dead doppleganger, and a twist ending we never could have seen coming!
