Modern Family review – 4×10: ‘Diamond In The Rough’

December 13, 2012 by Bitch Stole My Remote

You know how scientists suspect that certain athletes’ brains process events so quickly that it is almost as if these athletes are perceiving what is happening around them in slow motion? (Wayne Gretzky comes to mind). It supposedly allows them to better anticipate what’s coming and map out how they’ll react faster than regular humans. Well, audience, you and I are these super athletes when it comes to Modern Family – we’re watching jokes coming from waaaay down the ice, anticipating the punchline and the smirk, cringe or eye roll they will generate. Oof.

Who’s tired? [Read more…]

Arrow review – 1×09: ‘Year’s End’

December 12, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Arrow delivers an appropriately bleak and cliffhanger-y fall finale as the mythology jumps to the next level and a countdown is initiated. Six months, folks: that’s how long Sunspot Sunscreen Starling City has.

Happy Endings review – 3×06: ‘To Serb With Love’

Relationships are hard. Just ask me…actually don’t. Whether it’s the relationship we have with our special someone, or the relationship with our best friend or even that somewhat strained relationship we have with our parents, you’ve got to work hard at maintaining that relationship. This week’s episode plays on all of these, and it gives us by far the best episode of season three so far.

Let’s review. [Read more…]

Homeland review – 2×11: ‘In Memoriam’

After last week’s incredibly polarizing episode, would Homeland recover in its second last episode of the season?

Fringe review – 5×08: ‘The Human Kind’

December 8, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Olivia (Anna Torv) goes magnet shopping in an effort to take her mind off the fact that her husband Peter (Joshua Jackson) is becoming an emotionless robot. Sounds like a regular day in Fringe-land

Elementary review – 1×09: ‘You Do It To Yourself’

December 7, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

I’ve never been a fan of procedurals, but they’re tolerable so long as there’s a nugget of character development hidden among the corpses and paperwork. Sadly Elementary‘s ninth episode contains no such elements.
