American Horror Story: Coven review – 3×04: ‘Fearful Pranks Ensue’

October 31, 2013 by Joe Lipsett

We’ve reached part one of American Horror Story: Coven‘s two part Halloween double shot. Considering the madcap shenanigans on this show, however, it’s unclear how we’re meant to distinguish this pumpkin outing from any other episode.

Arrow review – 2×04: ‘Crucible’

Everything about ‘Crucible’ screams: we need to talk about Sara (Caity Lotz)! In a surprisingly forthcoming fashion, the identity of the mysterious female vigilante is revealed to be the youngest Lance daughter. Cue no one’s surprise.

The Originals review – 1×05: ‘Sinners and Saints’

October 30, 2013 by thedude35

The underlying theme of The Originals is brought to the forefront once more as all paths lead back to family in tonight’s episode: those who have a family, those who want a family, and the lengths to which some will go when they’re pushed to protect family.

Awkward. review – 3×12: ‘And Then What Happened?’

October 30, 2013 by Joe Lipsett

After setting up all of the dominoes last week (and subsequently knocking them all down in one move at a surprise 17th birthday party), Awkward. dances around the fall-out for an inspired, if not particularly funny, rift on the telephone game.

Quick Take review – The Good Wife 5×05: ‘Hitting The Fan’

October 28, 2013 by Joe Lipsett

I usually write about The Good Wife once a year: when it comes time to compile my Best Of Television list for the annual Bitch Awards (2012 & 2011). Each year the CBS’ drama makes it into my top five, but that’s traditionally as much love as I give the best show on network TV. That discrepancy had to change with ‘Hitting The Fan’ – an episode that single-handlely catapults The Good Wife into the upper echelons of TV drama with what may be one of the best hours of TV I’ve ever seen.

Revenge review – 3×05: ‘Control’

October 28, 2013 by Joe Lipsett

Last week Emily’s (Emily VanCamp) plans went to hell after Conrad (Henry Czerny) realized that his Huntington’s disease had been faked. Also: Nolan (Gabriel Mann) made out with Green Arrow. Where do we go from here?
