August 6, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

It’s season finale time for Continuum, but I trust you weren’t hoping for answers because this tenth and final episode of S1 ends with a giant question mark.

True Blood review – 5×09: ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’

August 6, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Boy…is that ever a long episode of True Blood? Oh sure, the run time is no longer than usual, but it sure feels long. Thankfully several of the series’ more frustrating stories are wrapped up, which means the remaining S5 episodes should be able to focus on the meaty stuff.

Film review: Total Recall

August 5, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

The updated Len Wiseman remake of Total Recall has arrived and while it gives story credit to the Philip K. Dick original We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, this is basically a remake of the 1990 Paul Verhoeven film. Most critics are panning the film using a variety of unimaginative “memory”-related puns, but it’s easiest just to say its about white people problems.

Continuum Interview: Victor Webster

Earlier this week I had the chance to chat with Continuum star Victor Webster, who plays Vancouver cop Carlos Fonnegra on Showcase’s hit series. We talked about the popularity of the show, how he got involved in the 11th hour and the possibility that Carlos and Betty (Jennifer Spence) will drunkenly hook up at a Christmas party.

Lost Girl review – 2×16: ‘School’s Out’

August 4, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

It’s back to school time on Lost Girl as Bo (Anna Silk), Kenzi (Ksenia Solo) and Dyson (Kris Holden-Ried) go undercover to break up a doping ring (what is this, Teen Wolf?). Plus: Lauren’s (Zoie Palmer) sex life gets a boost.

Awkward. review – 2×06: ‘What Comes First: Sex Or Love?’

August 3, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

And there it is, folks: the Awkward. I’ve been waiting for since it began its sophomore run. In its first season, the show was smart, flirty and maybe even a little dirty, but the second season made it seem like a bit of a fluke. And then sex came back into the picture and Awkward. suddenly found its way again.
