Ringer recap – 1×17: ‘What We Have Is Worth The Pain’

March 14, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Last week Ringer threw all of its characters into cars and had them follow each other in pursuit of Martin/Charles financial records and flash drives. It was entertaining, and slightly silly, but there was an energy that we haven’t seen on the show in quite some time. Is this the beginning of a new golden age of Ringer?

Smash recap – 1×06: ‘Chemistry’

March 13, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Hola Smash fans! TVAngie is busy writing hate mail to Katherine McPhee, so she asked me to step in for this week’s episode. While I’ll confess that I’m enjoying the show more than my writing partner, I’m still finding some fairly significant faults in the singing saga. Will tonight be the night things begin to gel a bit more?

Lost Girl recap – 1×09: ‘Fae Day’

In the wake of last week’s near series-best, Lost Girl settles in for a solid, if somewhat average episode that helps to expand the Fae world.

GCB recap – 1×02: ‘Hell Hath No Fury’

March 12, 2012 by yellowwait

After an amusing if uninspired pilot episode, I was interested to see where the series would go as it starts to spread it’s wings a little. In its second episode, GCB follows Carlene (Kristin Chenoweth) and her bitch posse as they continue their hate-on for Amanda (Leslie Bibb), which involves bringing their children into the game. Hell hath no fury like Texan women scorned, but Hell hath no annoyance like a bored critic.

Let’s dish. [Read more…]

The Walking Dead recap – 2×12: ‘Better Angels’

There are few words that capture the feeling that accompanies watching game-changing television. Perhaps because it so often involves deaths and surprise twists of fate, often we as viewers are left in shock, our mouths open in speechless disbelief. And while the events that took place on last night’s The Walking Dead should come as a surprise to no one, TVAngie may have captured the mood best when she wrote me after the episode ended to exclaim that she “needed a cigarette.”

Let’s bitch it out…(Major spoilers ahead)

Once Upon A Time recap – 1×15: ‘Red-Handed’

March 11, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

After last week’s poorly timed side journey into yet another impossible love story, Once Upon a Time had some ground to make up. And while I would have preferred the show tackle Kathyrn’s disappearance head-on, ‘Red-Handed’ was a good character piece with a surprising take on a familiar story.
