The Secret Circle recap – 1×17: ‘Curse’

March 23, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Alright, so I know that I haven’t always been the biggest supporter of The Secret Circle in recent weeks (see my rant-filled post a few weeks back), but I have to say that there is a lot in ‘Curse’ that works for me. Not only did the show remember that it has a history, but it did something I didn’t think was possible: it surprised me.

Let’s bitch it out… [Read more…]

Ringer recap – 1×18: ‘That Woman’s Never Been A Victim Her Entire Life’

Ringer continues to move towards its first season endgame. With ‘That Woman’s Never Been A Victim Her Entire Life’, the show delivers a surprisingly solid episode  – albeit slightly less exciting – episode that begins to tie events together. It’s still Ringer, though, so there remains some truly aggravating moments.

Let’s bitch it out…

The Secret Circle recap – 1×16: ‘Lucky’

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a month since our last fresh episode of The Secret Circle. And yet less than a week has passed in the show’s timeline as everyone is still reeling from the witch hunter attack in the woods that almost compelled Cassie (Britt Robertson) to kill her recently returned father, John Blackwell (Joe Lando). So what’s happening in Chance Harbour tonight?

Well if I was a betting man, I’d wager you’ll click through to find out…

Ringer recap – 1×17: ‘What We Have Is Worth The Pain’

March 14, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Last week Ringer threw all of its characters into cars and had them follow each other in pursuit of Martin/Charles financial records and flash drives. It was entertaining, and slightly silly, but there was an energy that we haven’t seen on the show in quite some time. Is this the beginning of a new golden age of Ringer?

Ringer recap – 1×16: ‘You’re Way Too Pretty To Go To Jail’

March 7, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

For what seems like interminable weeks I’ve been waiting for Ringer to embrace its inner soap opera and turn the heat up from simmer to hot. This week everyone is desperate to cover the tracks of the Martin/Charles Ponzi scheme revealed in last week’s episode, and despite the sheer boredom of white collar crime, Ringer finally manages to deliver an engaging episode.

Ringer recap – 1×15: ‘PS You’re An Idiot’

March 1, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Ringer inches closer to its first (only?) season finale with a mixed-bag entry: several story elements were intriguing, while others were laughably terrible. So essentially it’s business as usual!
