A new Madonna album is such a loaded event that it’s hard to come into it with a fresh perspective. After all this is the woman who has singlehandedly pushed pop music forward for the past 30 years. And while her early contemporaries have vanished into pop history or – more recently – passed away tragically, the Queen keeps working hard trying to stay relevant and hip in a world that is increasingly youth obsessed. Madonna, the reigning queen of pop, is back in the spotlight in a big way. With her new movie W.E., her superbowl halftime show, her press tour and her new album, she seems to be everywhere. Friday saw the release of her new video for her single ‘Give Me All Your Luvin,’ (click to watch) featuring Nicki Minaj and MIA.

Commentary – ‘Marry the Night’ video – Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga’s 14 minute long epic music video for her newest single Marry the Night has everything from bedazzled jean jackets, nudity, dancing in the streets, and the oh so delicious Mark Kanemura. All things we have come to expect from a Gaga video. This is the first video that she has directed and has said that it represents a dark chapter in her life when she was dropped from Def Jam records. So let’s start dissecting the highs and lows, because we have 14 minutes to cover.
