Justified recap – 3×08: ‘Watching The Detectives’

March 8, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Way to make me eat my words, there, Justified. Just a few days after complaining about a slightly listless episode in which the focus appeared to be entirely on setting up action, things exploded (in some cases literally) in ‘Watching The Detectives.’

Let’s bitch it out… [Read more…]

Ringer recap – 1×16: ‘You’re Way Too Pretty To Go To Jail’

March 7, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

For what seems like interminable weeks I’ve been waiting for Ringer to embrace its inner soap opera and turn the heat up from simmer to hot. This week everyone is desperate to cover the tracks of the Martin/Charles Ponzi scheme revealed in last week’s episode, and despite the sheer boredom of white collar crime, Ringer finally manages to deliver an engaging episode.

Lost Girl recap – 1×08: ‘Vexed’

March 5, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Lost Girl gets epic in its eighth episode. Despite a mildly anticlimatic finish and a slightly mundane case-of-the-week, this episode not only reintroduces Bo’s (Anna Silk) quest for familial answers in a big way; it also gives us a huge info dump about the rules governing the Fae world. Added bonus: sex for everyone!

The Walking Dead recap – 2×11: ‘Judge, Jury, Executioner’

March 5, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Last week TVangie addressed the ongoing struggle between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Shane (Jon Bernthal) as they wrestled with the decision to abandon Randall (Michael Zegen). The zombie waterfall put an end to those plans, prompting a return to Herschel’s (Scott Wilson) farm. This week we explore the fallout, which includes a tragic end to one of our characters.

Let’s bitch it out…(Major spoilers ahead)

Once Upon A Time recap – 1×14: ‘Dreamy’

March 4, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

Courtesy of ABC

After a few weeks off for the Academy Awards, Once Upon A Time returns with a bit of a dud – serving up a filler episode full of familiar themes and lacking substantial developments in the larger mythology of the show. Oh, and Emma (Jennifer Morrison) makes another lousy decision as Sheriff…naturally.

Justified recap – 3×07: ‘The Man Behind The Curtain’

March 3, 2012 by Joe Lipsett

The last few weeks, as Justified crossed the halfway mark of the season, I’ve continually been reminded of (and referenced in these recaps) a game of chess: there are at least four groups of players and slowly, but surely, they’ve been moving into position. And while ‘The Man Behind the Curtain’ didn’t result in knocking anyone out of the game, there were some preliminary moves more than worthy of being discussed.
